how to possibly score 780+ in GMAT?

by gmatkiller_24 Thu Jan 22, 2015 11:15 am

I find GMAT is such an interesting thing that I want to challenge myself to get a score 780+ as an non-native speaker. That is really interesting! I have taken several times of the test, with the verbal grades between 36-38 and the quant grades between 50-51 in the real test.

In the manhattan CAT test, I get average grades in the verbal section like 41.

Can instructors shed more light on further improvements that I can make to further enhance the score? Thank you!

First, good luck! That's an impressive goal. :) I'm especially impressed because you're a non-native speaker. I live in Montreal / have been learning French for a while now but could never score that well on a similar test in French!

If you can maintain 50 or 51 on the quant, then you will need to hit probably 45+ on verbal to hit 780+. 45 on verbal is the 99th percentile. In other words, you have to be really good at everything!

Can you give us a rundown or your current strengths and weaknesses? You can use this to analyze your most recent MGMAT CATs:

Tell me your "buckets" (you'll know what I mean when you read the article).

Also, read these two things:

Do these reflect how you're studying and approaching the GMAT? If not, how do you need to change what you've been doing?
