How to manage time on Quant - MGMAT

by shwetha_shyam Thu Dec 08, 2011 2:40 am

I can time myself on the normal GMAT Preps pretty well.
But in the MGMAT Quant CAT - after the first 3-4 qns, I am getting very calculation intensive 700-800 level questions and these continue until the last minute (where I am only able to finish till the 25th question).

Is there anyway to better time myself for the Quant section?
(I have taken a number of GMAT preps, but managed to finish on time).

Thanks!

Hi Stacey,

Just checked the difficulty level of the question -

Out of the 25, 24 are 700-800 level types, out of which 7 went wrong.

I would really appreciate some advice how to handle such situations better.

Thanks!

Stop spending more than 2.5m on any question. :)

You're going to feel time pressure on the real test. If you don't learn how to deal with it (which means letting some questions go and getting some questions wrong), then you'll run out of time and kill your score.

Read this article and start doing what it says:

But I'll give you a couple of things here.
(1) You WILL get questions wrong. I do too.
(2) You WILL get questions that are too hard for you, no matter how much you study. I do too.
(3) You WILL have to let questions go if you want to get the best score that you can get. I have to do this too!

Read this article too - short but sweet:
