HOW TO IMPROVE ???

by livelifequeensize Mon Jul 16, 2012 9:12 pm

hi ,

i have been studying for a month or so ..
materials i used were - mgmat strategy guides , solved princeton and kaplan questions...

last week i took the og13 diagnostic test
and these were my scores

problem solving - 18/24
data sufficiency - 16/24

reading comprehension - 15/17
critical reasoning - 12/17
sentence correction - 14/18

summing it up .. i fall in a fine line between average and above average category . this is scaring me , coz i feel iam at the same level from the start .

this is really pulling down my confidence :((

can somebody please help me out !!!

Thanks in advance !!

First, you've only been studying for a month - this takes time. Most people study 3-4 months, if not longer.

Second, the diagnostic test in OG13 has some particularly hard questions in it. Also, the number correct tells us very little about how you'd score on the real test because the structure of a computer-adaptive test is totally different.

So what you really need to do is take a practice test under 100% official conditions. If you have our books, then you also have access to our tests - schedule one for yourself this week-end.

When you're done, use the below to analyze your strengths and weaknesses:

And use that to plan out your study strategy. If you'd like, come back here and tell us the results of your analysis. (Note: do share an analysis with us, not just the raw data. Part of getting better is developing your ability to analyze your results - figure out what they mean and what you think you should do about them!)
