Glad you checked out the e-book and you're thinking about all these factors. I think applicants approach school selection very differently...some just know, they have schools they've always wanted to go to...some do a lot of research to look at the stats and data...and some just prefer to talk to people to get a sense of different programs.
In your case, when you think about your reasons for getting an MBA and future goals, is there one factor that's most important? For example, if your primary reason to get an MBA was to make a career change into the energy industry, then finding a program that has a specialization in that industry and connections to employers would be really important.
Also, although we don't typically advise using rankings, they can be a useful place to at least start to narrow in on a range of schools. So perhaps take a look at the stats of average GMATs / GPAs at different programs to see how you might stack up. Check this out to help you get started:
