How much does IR impact GMAT Admissions

by PriteshT745 Tue Feb 10, 2015 8:06 am

Hi,

I gave my GMAT on the 1st of February 2015 and got 710 (Q-49/V-35)

I have got 6.0 in my AWA but 3(25%) in my IR.

I wanted to know how much would my IR impact my admissions to mba schools. My CGPA is 3.4 and I have 2 years WE

I plan to apply to ISB, NUS, Nanyang this year for the academic year 2016-2017

Hi there,

Well it certainly would have been nicer to have a higher IR score; the mean is just over a 4.... but odds are that it won't be the ONLY factor that would keep you out of b-school... many schools are still not giving it huge weight in the process, and certainly the overall score is still most important. Check out this post from the fall for example: http://poetsandquants.com/2014/10/09/b- ... r-section/

Good luck!

Hi Pritesh,

I don't know a ton about your profile at the moment... though you do have fewer years of work experience than the majority of admitted applicants, so beyond waiting another year or so to reply, you'll want to demonstrate why the QUALITY of your experience thus far out-weighs the quantity of years of experience, and to show that you do have a lot of leadership experience, and why NOW is the right point in your career to get the MBA. You should have a pretty clear vision of your future career and how you'll use the degree, etc.

If you'd like to chat with one of our consultants in more depth at any point, you can sign up at www.mbamission.com/consult.

Good luck!
