HELP

by prerna.bell Tue May 08, 2012 1:16 pm

Hi,
I have taken the GMAT twice the first time got a 640 but the score had to be cancelled for some reason. The second time I took the GMAT I was confident of getting a 680 atleast since I scored no less than 700 in any of the mock tests . However to my surprise I scored only a 630. And now I dont know what to do . Is there any bschool that takes these scores? or should I take the test again ?

background information working in an MNC as a systems engineer for the last 6 months(was planning on applying after 2 years)
graduated with distinction from Mumbai University.

Please advise thanks

Hi!! It seems like you only have taken it once officially, since you canceled one score. Given that it is only May and Round 1 deadlines are not for nearly five months, I would give yourself one more shot at it. If you could score where you think you are capable, then you would feel a lot more confident in your business school application journey. If you, however, decide to keep your score and not take the GMAT again, there are certainly good MBA programs with plenty of students with scores similar to yours. Make a list of schools you are interested in, based on the kinds of courses they offer, location, job placement, etc., - and then look at what the range of GMAT scores. The GMAT is just once piece to the puzzle.

Best of luck,

Rachel Beck
