Thank you for your inquiry.
As an international female, you should have a significant advantage in this process, particularly one from an under-represented country like Australia.Still, your low quant score could be an issue, because there is a historic correlation between quant performance on the GMAT and grades in business schools. The admissions committee wants to be certain that you won’t struggle to perform in quantitative courses. So, you might try to offer evidence of your strengths in this area - has your marketing role been heavily analytical? You mention that your GPA is below average but do you have any As in quant courses? You can use the optional essay to reveal strengths, if possible.
Sincerely,

VPV Wrote:Hello,
I have recently sat the GMAT and received a score that I am happy with, although I feel that there may be a potentially sizeable gap between quant and verbal (Quant 44, 70thP; Verbal 42 95th P; overall 710 92nd P). I would like to confirm if this is the case and how much of an issue this is likely to be.
With regards to the other aspects of my application, I am a 27yr old female from Australia, fluent in 2 languages with a smattering of a third. I have 4.5 years work experience (across strategy and marketing within the consumer goods industry), and a good record of progress (albeit with the same company). My most significant weakness would be my GPA, which is below the average for the schools I am looking to apply for (IMD, Yale, Columbia, INSEAD).
I would be grateful for any advice you can give me.
