GmatPrep and scoring algorithm

by khaled Mon Jul 14, 2008 7:50 am

Hi,

Yesterday I took GmatPrep test2. I scored 50q/35v total 710. Now here is the problem: I got only 12 correct answers in the verbal section! Moreover, ALL of my answers from the 18th to the 41st were wrong! I still can not understand how I managed to make 35! Have you ever seen something like this before? I know that the score depends also on the level of difficulty of the question, but no to the point of getting 24 successive wrong answers.. Please tell me what you think.

Thanks,
Khaled

I'm in the same boat. I got a 48Q, 11 total incorrect including my last 6 answers. My V score was a 35 and I only got 12 questions wrong on the entire section. My wrong answers were pretty much even spaced and I got a bold face CR correct on my second question after I answered the first question incorrectly!

Do you mean you got 12 wrong answers? My case is the contrary: I got only 12 correct answers and 29 wrong answers! Do you think this makes sense?
