GMAT Timing

by hilary.king Tue May 08, 2012 10:10 pm

Hi all,

Thanks in advance for your help! Do you know how long it takes the GMAT score to report to a school? If I am planning to apply the first round, what is the latest date I could take the test?

I know the best answer is to take it early, but I want to ensure I have the most accurate information so that I do not miss the deadline because my GMAT score was not reported in time.

Thanks! Hilary

Hi! It will really depend on the schools to which you are applying. Some schools will let you take the GMAT after the application deadline, so long as you have a date already scheduled for the exam. I don't recommend going that route, for two reasons. One, you hold up the evaluation of your application by the AdCom, and two, there is a risk that something goes wrong on test day and you can't complete the exam (a technical glitch, sickness, etc.). So if you can get in there to take the GMAT before the application deadline, I would advise that.

Best of luck,

Rachel Beck
