Thank you for your inquiry.
Your age and lack of community leadership will probably count against you at HBS. Nonetheless, your 780 should get you a pretty good look at Chicago and Wharton. I would be surprised if you did not at least get an interview and then you would hopefully use your maturity to make a strong impression. I think that your CFA, grades, work experience, make you a solid candidate. Some leadership would probably have put you over the top, but W and C should still be within reach. The GMAT isn’t everything, but it sure is a good thing that you got such a high score - you would not be in the same boat if you had a 700.
Sincerely,
Jeremy Shinewald

jmdjune Wrote:i recently applied R2 to H/W/C with a 780 GMAT (51Q/48V). do you know approximately what percent of applicants with a 780 are accepted at each school? and how much lower do you think these percentages will be given the number of applicants this year?
and if you'd like to take a punt on my chances, specifically, here is my background: i am a 30 yr old white male from the southeast with 6 years WE in banking/brokerage/investment management (although not at top tier wall street firms). for the past year, however, i have been traveling abroad. i did well in undergrad (3.9 GPA), but i attended a mediocre state school in the southeast. aside from paying taxes, i am not all that active in the community. that section of my applications may as well have been blank. oh, i am also a CFA charterholder.
thank you.
