gmat split and chances

by Path Thu May 29, 2008 5:47 pm

Hello,

I took gmat twice, my Q/V split has big swing

1st attempt Q 80% and V 50 % (total 600)
2nd attempt Q 60% and V 80% (total 630)

Though I touched 80% in both Q and V but unfortunately not in the same attempt.

Do schools look at the split in previous attempt? or they just check the composite score.

Do I have any chance at Kellog or GSB chicago - Part time course?

I have 12 years of IT experience in a finance company.
with last 3 years as a manager.
very good reco from 2 supervisors (not direct) who are Kellog alumni.
Decent social(not profit) service.
GPA - 3.8

Thanks

If you don't spell Kellogg correctly, then your chances there are basically zero.

In any case, schools look at the composite as well as the split - as to whether they combine the best from multiple attempts, you'll have to check with the individual school; as far as I know few if any do.

As for your chances, it's hard to say. It comes down to how well you execute the application, how well you interview, and so forth.
