Hello,
I got 690 (88th percentile) on the GMAT (46Q/39V i.e. 73%/87%). I'm an Asian female.
I'm currently finishing up a Computer Science degree from a well-known Canadian university, so I will apply 3-4 years down the road.
I'm looking into Columbia or Stern. My quants score was lower than I expected, and my verbal was much higher than expected. Since I'll have an undergrad CS degree with a fair bit of math, would that help accommodate the lower quants score?
Also, should I retake the GMAT now? I think I'll only be able to get 10-20 more points, so I'm not sure if it will be worth another month or two of prep. I would also like to wrap up my final year on a happier note, as opposed to stressing over the GMAT, though that's not a valid reason.
If I retake it a few months later or a few years, that will use the new format. I'm not sure how the new format will be like.
If I have a good application a few years down the road (after some work experience as a PM/BA) and a 690 on the GMAT, what will my chances of getting into Columbia be? As well as Stern? Will a 690 hinder my chances?
Thanks!
