GMAT Questions

by eric.wilson.86 Wed Sep 23, 2009 4:57 pm

Here's the story. I've taken the GMAT twice now.

GMAT #1 - 670, 34V, 48Q
GMAT #2 - 680, 41V, 42Q

So to date I have on score with a strong quant and one with a strong verbal. Though for whatever reason i was unable to put it together on the same day. Would an admissions rep consider this any differently? Perhaps it shows potential in both areas? Or am I being overly optimistic.

Either way, might it be worth it for me to retake a 3rd time. Or should i stick with what i've got.

Targeting Cornell, Virginia, Texas, Boston U, Tufts.

Hi Eric -

Can you give me the percentage breakdowns for each score before I answer?

Thanks!

Thanks Eric.

I think for the schools you're applying to, with the exception of Cornell to a degree, your GMAT is competitive, so I don't think it's a huge concern. On the other hand, if you have the time and internal fortitude to take it again, I think it could help. If you don't though, I'd probably write a very brief additional essay giving your score breakdown from the other time you took the test.

Hope that helps.
