GMAT Prep - That vs Those confusion

by BaranidaranP390 Sat Apr 30, 2016 5:50 am

Hi Ron,

I had this question recently in GMAT Prep.

Q. Because fish look through water, their eyes are very different from a mammal.

A. From a mammal
B. from a mammal's
C. from that of a mammal
D. than that of a mammal
E. than is a mammal's

I chose C because I felt even that should be fine while referring to the eyes. I will refer to your post on the below mentioned link on the usage of that.

Could you please help me understand the nuance that I might hev misinterpreted from your post.

OA: B

Thanks.

as a pronoun, in comparisons, "that" is singular. it can't refer to "eyes" (plural).
