GMAT Prep Question Pack Analysis

by messi10 Sat Mar 30, 2013 1:07 pm

Hi Stacey/instructors,

I have a question on the GMAT Prep question pack. I have been attempting verbal sets of these questions - 5, 10, 15 at a time, sometimes mixed (RC, SC, CR) and sometimes focusing on just one area.

I have reached a point where I have done about 30% of the available questions. I am averaging about 100% on easy questions, 90% on the medium questions and 50-60% on the hard questions

What I don't know is how to read this statistic. Or whether I should be reading anything into it or not?

Thanks

Sunil

It's good!

Are you doing the questions under normal timed conditions? If not, start.

If so, then you can stop doing the easy questions, but you should still do the mediums. Why? Read this:
https://www.manhattangmat.com/blog/inde ... mat-score/

The stats don't really tell you how you'd do on the real thing, because of course the real thing has 41 questions, verbal is the last section, the test is adaptive, etc.

But I like the numbers you're posting so far, especially if you've been working under normal timed conditions!

Hi Stacey,

Thanks for the blog, makes a lot of sense, will work on it. Yes, I have been practicing under timed conditions.

I am presuming that these questions, just like the OG questions, are not allowed to be discussed on the forums?

Thanks

yes, only free-source questions can be posted on the forums, not the paid ones. :(

note: GMAC just released version 2.2 of GMATPrep - make sure to upgrade because now the software lets you save your already-completed practice questions!
