GMAT Exam Registration Query

by PiyushK386 Thu Sep 03, 2015 7:47 am

Hi,

I am planning to schedule for my GMAT exam in the month of October.
However in the registration process we are required to enter our undergraduate GPA and I have a slight concern regarding this.
I am from India and the scale used by my institution is of 1-10 instead of the 4.0 GPA scale.
The GPA conversion chart provided by GMAC seemed a bit strange to me as according to it 70% GPA has been equated to 2.0/4.0.
Also the conversion table provides no information on how convert one's GPA on a scale of 1-10 to 4.0 GPA scale.
Can you please advise if is it fine if I skip the GPA field in the registration form and if I do what can be the consequences ?

Thanks & Regards

Piyush

Hi there, I'm not sure if they'll let you skip that, I believe you'll at least need to enter something. I would contact someone with GMAT's customer service (http://www.mba.com/us/service/contact-us.aspx) just to double check. They should be pretty well versed in converting different GPA scales. And remember that when you actually apply to business school, you'll submit your actual transcript to the school directly, so schools will be able to see all the detail behind your GPA. Good luck!
