Hi Alex,
I am applying to a program for which GMAT is optional (this is more like an executive MBA where your work experience trumps GMAT). However in order to bolster my application I planned on submitting my GMAT as part of the application. I took the exam a few weeks ago and bombed the exam. The fact that I was suffering from a nasty flu at that time had a role in that. In any case the score was miserable (540). Before I saw the score I selected the University and the program for the score submission, now I am regretting that big time. At this time I am planning on applying without the GMAT and take my chances.
Question(s) for you:
- The GMAT score was sent by ETS to the University a few weeks ago. I have not yet submitted my application and will do so in the coming weeks without putting in my GMAT score (since that is optional). Does that mean that they will not look at it? Or, since it was already submitted will it go on my file anyways?
- Should I contact the university about this or will that be detrimental since I end up disclosing my low GMAT score.
Thanks,
