GMAT beat me: 580 (M: 48, V: 28).

I just completed the exam a couple of hours back and am really dissapointed. I scored 580 (42M, 28V)

I am baffled as to what went wrong. I have taken the MGMAT classroom course and did pretty well in that.

Here are my practice GMAT scores:
MGMAT 1: 560
MGMAT 2: 590
MGMAT 3: 620
MGMAT 4: 640
MGMAT 5: 660

GMAT Prep 1: 640
GMAT Prep 2: 610
GMAT Prep 3: 590
GMAT Prep 4: 660
GMAT Prep 5: 630
GMAT Prep 6: 660

On all these exams, in math, I scored in the 43 - 49 range, around 48-49 in most tests and verbal score was in the range of 29 to 34.

The AWA was very good. After that the math section started pretty well with some basic easy questions and then the level gradually increased. When I started seeing overlapping sets and mixture problems, I was convinced that things were going well.

Verbal section started ok, but somewhere in the middle, I got one really easy RC, which made me suspicious.

But at the end, before looking at the score, I anticipated around M:48 and V: 32

Very dissapointed!

How many month did you take to prepare for the test?

How many hours were you studying per week?

Do you have an idea of where you went wrong while studying?

Hi Guest,

Sorry to hear about your score. I have heard that GMAT scores dont carry a whole lot if you have other things to make up for.

Could you please let me know as how you found the test compared to MGMAT or GMATPrep or OG ?

Did you find the Actual test tougher than any of these ?

If you take the test the 2nd time, what would you do or rather how would you prepare ?

Thanks
