Getting Low scores

by ManojS221 Sun Jan 17, 2016 4:02 pm

Hi Guys,

I am getting pretty low scores in my CAT particularly in Verbal section. The latest score I got is 340 (A disaster) only. I think I left 12 questions in each quant and verbal section that resulted in such a low score and percentile. I have completed 2 months of prep already in which I have completed all set of MGMAT books once.

Please anyone suggest me how to prepare from here and also if there is much more severe penalty of leaving questions rather than attempting them incorrectly. I am completely lost :(

Do not be disheartened my friend! Where you are at now was exactly how I started as well! Based on common understanding, yes the penalty of leaving questions unanswered is definitely higher than attempting them incorrectly.

Keep practising under timed conditions to get your timing under control. Have you tried the Official GMAT books and the Official Test Prep?

Thanks Black5879, I got some hope at least :)

Yeah I completed Official GMAT review books, but I chose to gave MGMAT tests first just for an analysis unfortunately I got such a low score.

I will try the same test now and this time I will try my best to complete all ques. even if I answer them incorrectly rather than leaving them unattempted.

Once again Thanks a lot !

Hi,

I attempted second CAT test and scored only 530 (Quant - 37 and Verbal -27 ). This time I attempted all ques. and didn't spend much time if I wasn't aware of solution.

But still a long way to go from 530 score to 700 score.

Thanks!!
