General pronoun question

Is "My uncle that lives in LA." a correct sentence?

Or must it be "my uncle who lived in LA"?

I guess we use "that" especially to address a thing not a person. So the second will be the best. But GMAT believes in "awkward" :D

Neither one is a complete sentence, actually - but I think you were just trying to ask about who vs. that when used with a person? :) We do use "who" for people, yes.
