Dear Tim,
This question is actually from the GMAT question bank that can be bought on mba.com.
I understand that we cannot post the question here, but there is a reference number provided to this question which is VSC003901.
I do have the same question as others above which is regarding how this sentence is correct without using "that" or "what" after "than". Could you kindly explain. I will write part of the sentence here; I think that the rest of the sentence will not affect the answer to this question.
Lab rats live 40% longer than usual when fed a diet that has at least 30 percent fewer calories
than they would normally eat.
(the question is that I eliminated this choice because it was not written: fewer calories than
WHAT/THAT they usually eat )
Furthermore, is it right to say: The diet they normally eat? I mean can diet be eaten?
sincerely,
Anoosheh
