Foundations - FDP&R Drill Set #13

by JamesN Wed May 06, 2015 10:28 am

Hi All,

Can someone please explain step 3 of the solution for me (pg 88 in the digital book)? I don’t understand where √3√3 / √2√3 - √2√2 / √3√2 came from. I understand breaking the square roots into their individual forms, but then I’m lost.

The original problem is:

√3/2 - √2/3

(answer is B: 1/√6)

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

hi,
per the forum rules, please post the entirety of the original question.
(if there are answer choices, please include those as well, regardless of whether you are asking anything that pertains to a specific answer choice.)

also, please post whatever part of the answer key you're asking about.

these rules don't exist just to annoy you; rather, they exist to ensure that these forum threads stay useful for other readers. (also, more practically, we don't always-- or even usually-- have easy access to the materials while moderating the forum.)

thanks!
