Focus on GMAT or Applications?

by Guest Tue Oct 23, 2007 3:29 pm

I took the GMAT and came in low, on the low end of the 80% range for the schools I'm targeting. I have a solid undergrad GPA and am confident in my essay writing abilities. I generally don't test well on Standardized Exams so I'm not sure that continuing to study and retaking the GMAT will result in an improved score.

It's now the end of October, applications are due in the beginning of January. With just 2 1/2 months left, would it be wise to throw in the towel with regards to the GMAT and focus on the rest of the application or to focus on improving my GMAT score?

thank you

It's a judgment call. If you think you can bump it up 40+ points without much effort, re-take it. Otherwise, just focus on the essays.
