First vs. Second round

I made the decision to start applying for business schools a little bit late and I am not confident that I will be ready by many schools first deadline. In general, are there differences between the first and second round application deadlines other than simply the date?

For schools with 3 rounds or more, there is not a huge difference between Rounds 1 and 2. MIT is the exception, since it only has 2 rounds - and as such, you should aim for Round 1 for MIT.

Otherwise, you're better off spending the time to put in a stronger application in Round 2 than a rushed application for Round 1.
