Female GMAT 710/3.3/6yrs

by nguyenthutrang2012 Thu Sep 08, 2011 12:21 pm

Dear experts

Please advice if my profile is good enough for Kelloggs, Emory, Haas, Boston University, Wisconsin-Madison

GMAT: 710 (Q45, V41)
GPA: 3.3
Work experience: 6 years at international companies in Marketing/Communications roles:
- Customer Management Executive at a international telecom operator
- Marketing and Communications Manager at a intl telecom vendor
- Internal Communication Manager at a intl bank - current job

My experience is mostly in Marketing&Communications, events, media relations, organizational communication, change management - being in charge of the function and interacting with teams across the organization and senior executives. I have led and took part in projects and initiatives of various scales.

Community service: only with my employers and most of them one time engagement - for example I launched the blood drive, calling for donation to natural disaster appeals, founded the staff charity fund and organize charity trips for colleagues - nothing permanent and impressive I suppose.

Thank you for your help

Hi Trang,

Thanks for writing in. From a pure numbers perspective you have the scores to be considered at all of those schools. With the limited information I have I would rate Kellogg as a "reach" since you'll be competing against many candidates with similar profiles (although you don't say where you went to college). Haas would be a near-reach for largely the same reasons, but I think you would be competitive for Emory and very competitive for BU and Wisconsin.

Best of luck,

Daniel Richards
