facing unusual things in my ID!

by AsadA969 Tue Oct 01, 2024 2:27 pm

The following link shows my zero post! This is not my ID. Why did the Manhattan Prep create this ID for me? make_clickable_callback(MAGIC_URL_FULL, '
', 'https://www.manhattanprep.com/gmat/forums/ucp.php', '', ' class="postlink"')

My ID has 230 posts. The ID link has been given below which shows that it is ''Username: removed001''make_clickable_callback(MAGIC_URL_FULL, '
', 'https://www.manhattanprep.com/gmat/forums/member372496.html', '', ' class="postlink"')

Why did Manhattan Prep delete my ID?

I don't know what happens to my ID. I need a clarification on it.
Thanks___

Hi! I'm not sure what happened, but I'll be happy to figure out what's going on.

I will forward what you shared to our dev team. Just in case they need it, can you also tell me the original userID that you had? (I know that you linked to it, but our linking is broken right now on the forums, and it looks like it may have removed the username from what you pasted into your post. If you can give me just the original userID by itself, that will help.)

Thanks—we'll figure out what happened!

Hi, again! I talked to our dev team and it seems that you'd also separately emailed or called in, because they were already working on this. :)

But I also wanted to follow up here, since I told you I would. Here's what they told me the current status is:
The "post count" field has now been updated for your new forum user account to show the number of posts you had made in your original account. (The posts themselves had already been moved over to your new account, but the "post count" field mistakenly hadn't been updated—that's been updated now.)

Your posts do still all exist; they have not been deleted. Here's an example: make_clickable_callback(MAGIC_URL_FULL, '
', 'https://www.manhattanprep.com/gmat/forums/change-of-color-in-user-name-t32114.html', '', ' class="postlink"')

One note: You may need to log out of the forums and then log back in again in order to see everything properly. (Logging out of Atlas does not also log you out of the forums. You have to log out of the forums separately.) When our dev team logged in as you for your new forum account, they were able to see everything correctly (included the data/posts from your original account, which have been moved over to your new account).

If you are also continue to talk to them via email, go ahead and continue the conversation there. I just wanted to follow up here as well, just in case. Happy studying!

Thanks for the kind feedback.
I'm waiting for ''Student Support Mprep'' email.

I can see next to your name that it is now showing you have 319 posts—so it looks like that was indeed restored. And is your access working ok?

Also: I'm not sure why your username had to be changed, but I know that they were doing some security/privacy checks and one of the things they flagged was people using identifying info (like full names or even email addresses) as their username. This is a public forum, so they wanted to avoid having that identifying info be associated with people's usernames.

So possibly that was what happened in your case. For example, I know they were changing full names to use just the first initial of the person's last name.
