Extra Coursework

by Guest Tue May 13, 2008 10:04 pm

Hi,

For those of us with low GPAs it has been recommended to take a few courses in a community college to show that the low gpa is not representative of current performace. Do those courses have to be math related? Having a computer science as well as a mathematics degree I have taken all of the mathematics courses that a community college can offer. Also is it necessary to take it in a community college? Would a place like UC Berkeley Extension be good for this type of thing? Does it matter if it's online or in classroom? Would a couple of project management courses convey the same point?

Thanks.

You did a quant degree and did badly in those courses (hence the bad GPA), right?

Then take 2-3 quant courses now and do well - even if it covers similar stuff as your undergrad.

And yes, UC Berkeley extension (or any university that offers extension courses) is just fine.
