Extra Courses - Preferred College?

by alizabach Wed Dec 07, 2011 2:35 pm

To Whom It May Concern;

I am interested in taking extra courses to 'bulk up' my quantitative course load as I only received B's in college Econ courses. I am interested in potentially taking classes from Graduate School USA, as the fees aren't quite as high there as they are at a traditional four year college when taking post-baccalaureate courses. The course that I would like to take, an Intro to Stats course, is accredited by American Council on Education and the Graduate School USA staff said that a transcript for an accredited course counts the same as a regular college class.

Is there danger in taking the class at Graduate School versus a traditional four year college? Would there be any danger of an MBA program not accepting that course?

Thank you for your help!

Hi Alizabach,

I think you have nothing to worry about there. MBA programs aren't going to "accept" these grades as transfer credits, but rather look at them as evidence that you are trying to improve your analytical background. The prestige of the institution isn't really a factor, it's more about showing you learned the basics of the concepts of the class.

Best of luck,
