Doubt related to an SC question.

by dgr8sandeep Sun Jul 07, 2013 7:30 pm

In the statement below:

Although the Argentine ant is neither poisonous nor predatory, individual colonies cooperate in a super-colony so large that its collective appetite can become a competitive threat to bird, lizard, and other insect populations.

1)How is super-colony the antecedent for its?

2) Isn't the Argentine Ant supposed to be the antecedent for its?

3) Why is 'individual colonies' not the antecedent for its?

Thank You,
Sandeep
