Defer enrollment in one school and applying in other

I accepted admission offer from school X and deferred enrollment for six months. I am applying in other school Y and need to have an early decision so that I can know the result from Y before the enrollment starts at X. Now I have to give a reason to school Y for an early decision. Will disclosing the true picture create negative impression since I have accepted offer in other school?

Hi amitgarg,

Since deferment is unusual in MBA admissions this is fairly new ground for me. What I suggest is saying your reason for asking for an early decision is that you have a pending deadline for School X, but you would commit to attending School Y if you hear by a given date. I don't know what the conditions of your deferment were so I can't comment on that aspect.
