confused how to study for GMAT

Hello. I gave my GMAT few months ago, by studying through Official Guide 10 and Kaplan books. I scored 600 (V30, Q44). two days before the exam, i gave the online tests, in which i also scored almost the same. I basically found the Kaplan books of no real value.

the problem with me is that i am residing in Pakistan and i dont have any proper guidance. I tried to get Manhattan series but it was not available here. Now i have arranged to get the latest Manhattan series from a friend of mine who will be coming from USA in next few days.
My question is that if i self study through the Manhattan Series, do i stand a chance to improve my score significantly, around 680-700? and can the Official Guide, edition 10 enough along with this series (as i dont have the latest one available here)? i have until Nov-Dec to give the GMAT. Need sincere advise on how can I improve. Please Help!

Yes, plenty of people study on their own and are able to achieve 700+ scores. There's no guarantee for anyone, of course, but it's certainly possible.

OG10 is quite old - if it's at all possible to get a more recent version, I strongly recommend it. In particular, any version before OG13 will not have any Integrated Reasoning questions.

If not, you can also get access to online official questions that were written more recently. Download GMATPrep 2.0 from www.mba.com. The initial program is free, but you can buy a set of more than 400 questions through that program for only USD25 (and they're delivered electronically).

You can also buy GMAT Focus (www.gmatfocus.com) - official questions that, again, you can access electronically.

Also FYI - we do sell e-versions of our books. It sounds like you already have a solution through your friend, but if for some reason that falls through, you can buy e-versions instead.

You're sort of halfway in between two articles I wrote - one is for people just starting out and the other is for people who have been studying for a while and are stuck or struggling. Because you have already been studying, I gave you the article for people who've already been struggling, but note that you'll be going through our books for the first time, not the second.

And finally, of course, take advantage of online discussion forums and resources, as you're already doing here!
