Comparing R to S

by lopez.christian.j Mon Jul 07, 2014 7:45 am

Hi,

I'm looking at the CAT problem "comparing R to S"

I think the answer should be B and not C.

Here is my reasoning:
r^2-s^2=7 can be re-written as (r+s)(r-s)=7. No two other numbers besides 4 and 3 will fit this equation, especially because 7 is prime. This means that we don't need statement 1 to tell us that r+s=7. So B alone should be sufficient.

Please let me know if I'm not seeing something!

Thanks
