Chapter 3 Problem Set, Number 15

I understand what is incorrect about this question, but what are some possible solutions that would not compromise the meaning? All the answer says is that there are several possible solutions.

15. The proliferation of computer games designed to involve many players at once were first developed before the widespread availability of high-speed Internet connections.

I’m going to leave it to you to come up with some examples, and we’ll be glad to help you determine whether your examples are acceptable. Keep in mind that you may not be able to avoid compromising the meaning, because the meaning of the original (if it even has one) is so obscured by the grammar mistakes. You should NEVER worry about this. There is NO rule about not changing meaning..
