CAT1 analysis

by Guest Fri May 09, 2008 4:14 pm

I took the 9 week course which ended a week ago. I took CAT1 and I was so bad that I did not know that I had to hit the confirm button after choosing an answer, esp when I set the timer to 120 seconds per Q. Result was that all questions were unanswered. Also, I realized that I did not know much material. I did not take any CATS during the course and now started taking CATS. I scored 45 on Q and 34 on V. I would like to increase V to 40 or above to get a good score.

I had 6 SC wrong out of 15, 6 CR wrong out of 14 and 6 RC wrong out of 12. How to improve RC and CR?

Are the MGMAT verbal also harder than original GMAT verbal? most of the Q's I got wrong are in 700-800 range

Thanks [/i]

could you please post additional details about your verbal performance? for instance:
* what types of questions did you miss? (for instance, did you miss cr questions on finding assumptions? weakening conclusions? etc. on sc, what types of errors tripped you up?)
* how much time did you spend?
* anything else relevant?

it's of course impossible to give a meaningful answer to a question as general as 'how do i improve RC and CR?' -- this is a question that takes hours and hours to answer in class, and 100's of pages to answer in the strategy guides. however, if you provide us with a more specific window into your performance, we'll be able to help you out.
