CAT-1 (Free exam) results

by v800 Fri Apr 24, 2009 5:05 am

Hi Stacy,
I am the same person, who has been interacting with you via the thread with subject "Scored 550 only in all my 3 GMAT test appearances "

I have joined the pre course, had the first session last week and the next one this Saturday.Lead instructor is Jonathan.
I have been doing DS and SC from OG 11th ed ocassionally and I am half way through.
Now on I will stick to only the prep course time table and homework.

Gave my CAT-1 (free) exam today, including AWA.
Scored :
Q : 37 (Same score as my previous 2 officla GMAt attempts)
V: 34 (Never scored so much in any of my previous real GMAt attempts)
T: 590.

I felt Verbal was little easy, and Quant was in line with the real one.I finished all the questions in verbal and somehow was still left with 15 minutes. This is BAD timing.

Please advice and also let me know, how did I fair in this test?

Regards,
V800

Finishing that early is a problem. You may want to go over the problems where you were wrong and too fast. Start with any that you missed under a minute (aside from those on which you made a quick, strategic guess). What did you miss? What should you have spotted that you didn't? How will you be sure to see it next time around?

It sounds as though you may also be seeing an increase that is partly due to some extra relaxation, from the test not being real. You'll want to work to build steady timing across the board, so as to be able to mimic that under real exam conditions.
