What are some post MBA careers that older applicants tend to go for?
General Management? Brand Management? What else should I consider?

It runs the gamut -- it's essentially anything other than investment banking.

While being young and single certainly makes the lifestyle (constant travel) of a consultant more bearable especially at the junior levels, consulting firms don't really care as much as the banks do about your age.

Other than banking, anything goes - leadership development programs at big companies, product manager positions at software firms, brand manager jobs at consumer products companies, program officers at nonprofits, and so forth.
