Campus Visit

How important is it to visit the BSchool one is applying to? Are admissions officers looking into this, and is it an advantage for those who do?

Thanks!

The visits can be invaluable for you to determine fit while also giving you the kind of insight into the school's culture and vibe that no website, brochure, or message board can provide.

Adcoms do care to some extent in that those who visit tend to have a clearer idea about how they fit in with the school.

If you're asking whether you should visit, the answer is yes, if you can find the time and money for it (you are spending around $125K in tuition and expenses, plus 2 years of forgone salary which could be in the neighborhood of $150 - 300K for 2 years, so it's a LOT of money you're investing into b-school; consider the money you spend on trips money well spent).
