no.

these questions can appear anywhere on the test, just like any other question type can. it's entirely possible that verbal question #1 could be one of these.

Thank you Ron,
I focus on 4 main types of questions, inference, assumption, strengthen and weaken questions. I see that there is no bold phrase question in OG11 and that there is only one question at the end of OG 10. So, I conclude that the bold phrase question should not be focused on.

Can somebody please explain why answer option 'e' is wrong?

I thought that the last line of the passage was the main conclusion. Any help to overcome my mistake would be helpful.

the last line of the passage is a fact, so it's automatically excluded from being the conclusion. (facts don't need to be supported by arguments, so they can't be the conclusions of arguments like these.)

to identify what is the conclusion, ask yourself, "which statements support which other statements?" and/or try to put the word "therefore" between the statements in the passage until you get them in an order that makes rhetorical sense.
either way, you should find that the conclusion is the one indicated in the problem.

Hi Ron,

I was trying to approach this problem with the fact v/s claim approach in order to eliminate a few choices. I am clear that the first boldface is a claim due to the use of the word "clearly". However, the presence of indicates in the second boldface made me unsure whether I could classify it as a claim or a fact. I was able to eliminate Option C, which says that the second sentence is an evidence, based on only the first portion and therefore able to solve the problem. However, can you please help me understand the usage of indicates as a claim here?

there's no need to nit-pick individual words here. if the speaker gives reasons for something, it's a claim.
