best time to give gmat?

by tejal777 Wed Jul 08, 2009 2:12 am

so the last gmat prep i took I scored a 660(v34 q47) I have never reached that level before so being a pessimist I am very sceptical. Will be taking another one soon after I complete off my OG 11 the second time around(almost done).Other books i refer to are manhattan sc,math and verbal reviews.I also have a kaplan 800 which i am saving it for last(good call?its so that I have some fresh material).
When should I take my test?I am aiming for US universities.August is good or should I spend more time on studing and give it later?
Please guide me according to the deadlines. Thanks!

Nice job! If you are scoring in the range you'd like to score on the test, then you should start thinking about scheduling a time to take it (sooner rather than later!). If you are still a ways from what you'd like to score, then you need more time.

Re: deadlines, the individual schools all set their own deadlines. You can find the different deadlines by checking the admissions area on the web sites of each of the schools to which you plan to apply. The earliest deadlines are typically in October.
