Behind on taking 1st CAT

by jaunty Mon Oct 06, 2008 4:03 am

I am into my 2nd week of the course (attended 2nd session yesterday), and haven't taken the first CAT exam yet due to an especially crazed work week. I had to prioritized completing the week's homework over taking the CAT.

Is it OK to take it this week?

Hi Jaunty-

We ask that you take the first CAT by week 2 because it's helpful to both you and your instructor to get an idea of your ability level when you start the course and to see how you're improving in respect to the different aspects of the test. If you stay on the schedule we've set out, your instructor will look over all of your tests at the end of the class to give you personalized feedback.

That being said, if life has gotten in the way of things, by all means go ahead now and take the first CAT. You might want to shoot an email over to your instructor about your specific situation, as each instructor has their own guidelines and timetables for when students need to have things finished in order to be eligible for the end of course feedback.

Hopefully that helps, but let us know if you have any other questions!

Best,
