assumptions

by thill287 Tue Nov 22, 2011 10:40 pm

I seem to be able to narrow them down to at least 2, and have been able to weed out ones unrelated to the argument. I've used the diagramming system, but yet I still get them wrong. Any advice?

While in between the 2 ...try to softly reverse the assumption (eg reversal of hot will NOT be cold but not hot ).so after the reversal the assumption which rips apart the conclusion ie the conclusion cannot stand alone once compared with the reversed assumption ...that assumption should be the correct answer ,,, try this technique and post a reply if it worked ....

(1) please post things in the correct folder. you originally posted this in the folder for GMAT PREP problems; i have moved it to the correct forum.

(2) please ask a specific question. read over your post again -- there's no specific question here. your post basically just asks, "how do i solve assumption questions?" that question, while obviously important, is much too general to answer in a forum post.

for starters, you may want to watch the march 4, 2010, video at the following link:
