Assessment Report - Verbal

by wallstreetcat Wed Apr 03, 2013 6:27 am

Hello -

I wanted some assistance in interpreting some of the data from two recent exams. My verbal dropped by 2pts but when looking at some of the data from the assessment reports, it seems odd.

CAT #4: V-33
Topic, Total Q#, Right, Wrong, Blank, Avg. Time Right, Avg Time Wrong, Avg Diff Right, Avg Diff Wrong
Sentence Correction 15 9 6 0 60% 1:10 1:14 730 720
Critical Reasoning 14 8 6 0 57% 2:03 1:51 690 700
Reading Comprehension 12 7 5 0 58% 2:10 2:46 740 710

CAT #3: V-35
Topic, Total Q#, Right, Wrong, Blank, Avg. Time Right, Avg Time Wrong, Avg Diff Right, Avg Diff Wrong
Sentence Correction 15 9 6 0 60% 1:18 1:12 720 750
Critical Reasoning 14 9 5 0 64% 2:10 1:50 680 710
Reading Comprehension 12 6 6 0 50% 2:20 2:10 670 680

The stats in #4 would lead me to believe that I improved my Verbal noticeably vs. #3, but the drop in overall score is worrisome.

Please help.

Thank you!

That data doesn't really reflect how the scoring works - the algorithm's really complicated. :)

Look at your progress question by question. Was your score higher at times but then dropped towards the end of the section? Where you end is what you get, essentially - so if you were running out of time, or getting tired, or just got unlucky and had a string of wrong answers towards the end, your score would drop.
