Arithmetic Mean(Average)

by KenaV526 Tue May 27, 2014 2:55 pm

If 11m-n=p, then which of the following represents the average of m, n, and p, in terms of m?

The answer is 4m, but I got 2m. What am I doing wrong? Thanks. Sorry if I posted this question wrong, I am new here.

We can't answer this question unless you tell us what you're doing in the first place!
What have you tried?
Have you tried any non-algebraic methods (e.g., number plugging)?
What do you understand? What don't you understand? Can you pinpoint any specific place/step where you're getting stuck?
Etc.

Thanks.
