This is GMAT PREP 1 question.

Q. What is the significance of ALSO in option A?
IMO 'ALSO' in this context means there are two parallel verbs present in the sentence.However, I could not find the other verb.

I was totally bowled over by this question. I selected D even though I knew there is a modifier issue.

Could you please shed some light on all the options? What are the reasons to eliminate the wrong ones.
