Applying in Round 3

Hi,
I am planning to apply to Tuck Business School in Round 3. I am Indian Female, 30 yrs old with 7 years experience in engineering. I took GMAT at an odd time in Dec so I am too late for Fall'11 application and too early for Fall'12 applications.

However, I am 30! And I do not want to waste another year. So i decided to apply in Round 3. Most schools I contacted weren't very encouraging . Some said they cant provide financial aid to an international applicant in R3. Some said getting visa can be a problem.

I have been researching Tuck and its my favorite school to go to.
I have 730 in GMAT, hold a leadership position at my current job and have extra curriculars and community service to write about.

Would you say I have a profile to make it through Round 3? Would appreciate any advice specific to applying in Tuck.

Hi there,

Thanks for writing in. It sounds like your profile could be quite strong, but as you note, R3 at a top-school like Tuck can be quite a challenge. I would emphasize in your essays why it is imperative that you go to Tuck now, and what the impact of waiting another year would be. This should go beyond just the timing of your GMAT, but rather how it impacts your post-MBA plans.
