I've done quite a bit of research into this option and decided that I am a good candidate to take a class or two to build an alternative transcript before applying later this year for a Fall 2014 enrollment. A quick profile summary:
710 GMAT (48Q, 40V)
3.2 undergrad GPA from UC Santa Barbara
4 years experience in construction management
My main concern is my undergrad GPA, so I intend to take 2 courses before applying later this year. There is no glaring weakness in my transcript, just inconsistency due to occasional lack of discipline while attending school as a surfer living next to the ocean. I have mostly A's and B's in my business courses, however I have a few C's in there as well. (Adv. Micro, adv. accounting) My two main questions are
1) Should I take undergraduate or graduate level courses to supplement my alternative transcript?
2) Should I retake a class I did poorly in, such as advanced microeconomics, or should I take a different, but somewhat related course? I am looking to show my ability in quant, as my gmat score (48) is slightly below the 80th percentile. I took calculus for life sciences in undergrad (which is basically easy calculus), would it be worthwhile to retake calculus even though I got an A during undergrad?
Any help is greatly appreciated.
