Hi gurucharan,

Your GMAT is certainly in range for CMU, and your work experience could be a bit interesting, as I'm curious why you switched from biotech to family business, and what you intend to do with your degree. Given that you're applying in the final round the hill is going to be steeper though since final round tends to have a lower admission rate at most schools.

Unfortunately your high school sports involvement is going to have minimal impact, and you should think through your charity work to see if any particular project had a strong impact on your leadership or personal development.

Transferring among MBA programs is fairly rare, I would not encourage it as a strategy.

If you're looking for essay review, I'd suggest exploring the hourly service from MBA Mission at:

I'd be happy to work with you -- just mention my name when you sign up -- or we can match you with a consultant that best meets your needs.

Good luck!

Hi again,

Yes you can definitely mention your involvement in post-college cricket club, especially when it comes to off-field items such as organization and managing practices.

While I can't comment to your specific long-term goals, think of the process as a 3-part puzzle. Part I is all your experience to date. Now link that to Part II, which is the MBA. How do these two pieces link together -- ie how can you connect your past to your present MBA goals? Then Part III is your post-MBA goal. How does Part I plus Part II get you to Part III? So how does your past, plus the MBA skills, allow you to achieve your long-term goals? I suggest teasing out the parts of your long-term goals that fit this framework.

Good luck
