Advice on whether to take the GMAT again - 690

by AprilR319 Tue Sep 29, 2015 1:24 pm

Hello -

I am looking for advice on whether or not I should retake my GMAT exam. I got a 690 with Quant at 64 and Verbal at 91. I unfortunately did not do well on IR and got a 3 (eekk). I am very happy with a score of 690 but am wondering if i should retake it just because of the IR score?

I currently have 2 years of advisory work experience at one of the big four accounting firms. I went to the University of Michigan and was in the Ross school of business. I am planning on applying for schools in the second round and my absolute dream would be to go to Kellogg.

Please let me know your thoughts, I appreciate it!

Hi there!

I would not retake because of the IR...it's just not weighted very heavily by schools to warrant a retake. If your dream school is Kellogg, it would be ideal to be a little bit higher overall since their average is 717. So I might consider retaking to get your Quant score up. But it also depends on other factors, like what your GPA was and how you did in Quant courses, any other courses you've taken or certifications you might have, etc. If you'd like to chat further about your profile and next steps, feel free to sign up for a free phone consultation at http://www.mbamission.com/consult/

Good luck!
