Advanced sections of MGMAT Guides: Do I really need them??

by stephen.perkins Sun May 15, 2011 1:58 pm

Hello,

I'm not realistically shooting for a score to get into an elite school. My Professional MBA program has a suggested minimum of at least a 550 on the exam. I studied only the Foundations of GMAT Math book and no Verbal at all and got a 560 on my first GMAT Prep test.

Considering how short on time I am (about a month left), is it really necessary to study the Advanced sections of the math guides?

Thank you!

Stephen, absolutely 100% no. I have had students crack 700 who have not used the advanced material. It is quite tough and given your score goals it makes much more sense for you to focus on mastering the general material. Good luck!
