Admission chances to Top B schools

by email.bsan Mon Jun 15, 2009 2:06 pm

Hi,
I have a GMAT score of 710 ( Q-47, V-40 ) . I have 81% score in my Computer Eng degree ( no GPA was provided by the University ) and 5 years of work experience. I would be applying for Full Time MBA of Fall 2010. I want to apply to B schools where in atleast I will have a good chance to get admissions.
My choices for B schools are : Columbia, Wharton and Sloan . What are the chances of getting admissions in these Schools ? What are the other probable schools I can get admissions to?

Appreciate your response.

Hi -

Your GMAT score is solid and sounds like your academic record is strong as well. However, as you probably know, this is not always enough when it comes to being accepted to the schools you mentioned.

Based on the limited information you provided, it is somewhat difficult for me to comment on your profile. You mentioned that you have been working for 5 years, but in what capacity? Which industry? Have you received any promotions? It would be helpful if you could provide some detail in terms of your career progression.

Further, do you have any extracurriculars? Community service involvement? How are you different from others with a similar professional and educational background to your own? This would also be helpful to better gauge which schools you may want to consider.

Regards,
Erin
